crochet on crochet

Spring and summer are pretty much synonymous with crochet pieces. Pair it with a striped garment and it instantly becomes a classic look. The downside of these slip-ons? I wear them too often and for this reason, in addition to the color, they get dirty really quickly! However, they come in handy when I'm on the go and I can't spare a couple seconds to tie the laces on my Chuck Taylors. Ahhhh, I can never stress enough that I absolutely love spring.

Army Green + Coral

Spring time is synonymous with nice weather, flowers, bright colors -- everything that I love. San Francisco was so gorgeous over the weekend and I'm glad I was able to grab brunch at Sweet Maple in the Pacific Heights neighborhood. Even though I grew up here,  I've never really ventured out of my neighborhood (other than Downtown, of course) to really see what makes this city so beautiful. In typical San Francisco fashion, brunch was packed and my good friend and I ended up waiting about an hour for a table. However, the restaurant was really hospitable and provided complimentary coffee and fruit-infused water to aid the long wait. I wore my very trusted army green skinnies (seriously, I probably wore these to death), bright coral sweater, and simple nude ballet flats. Now moving on the food...doesn't it look delish? I'm salivating thinking about it. Too bad I can't eat like this all the time!

Clarisonic Mia

Yes, I am back! I can safely say winter quarter was one of the most stressful and sleep-deprived quarters I've had. Serving as evidence, I got sick twice (still recovering from the second time). Therefore, I couldn't find the time and capacity to spew out any quality posts even though I did mention I would blog about "anything and everything" somewhere in my previous post.

As a peace offering, I decided to dedicate a post to my newly-bought Clarisonic Mia in lavender. The picture isn't as clear as I hoped it would turn out -- I keep forgetting to bring up my DSLR from home in SF, so my iPhone will have to suffice in the mean time. Anyway, I was debating for awhile on whether or not to make this purchase. It is quite an expensive device ($119 retail) with a detachable brush head ($25 retail) replacement at a rate of every 2-3 months. Obviously this can quickly add up over time and as a student, I wasn't sure if this was a smart investment. However, the 90 day satisfaction guarantee (make sure it's from an authorized seller) coupled with the massive amount of positive reviews from both friends and strangers eventually pushed me to give it a try.

It's not necessary to include every detail about the Clarisonic but I do want to highlight that it claims to remove impurities from skin and pores 6x more effectively than with your hands in just 60 seconds. As a result, creams, moisturizers, and serums are more readily absorbed by the skin. This seemingly powerful, yet gentle device does take some time to deliver results depending on your skin. I do feel it leaving my skin softer and smoother, and I find myself feeling excited every/every other night to use this because the oscillating movement feels like a gentle facial massage every time! It's supposedly gentle enough to use twice a day but I find that a bit too much. There have been incidences of people going through the "purging" process, which is when all the impurities hidden beneath the skin are brought up to the surface. With that being said, I am going to wait about another month or so to see if the Clarisonic really lives up to the hype.
