As a peace offering, I decided to dedicate a post to my newly-bought Clarisonic Mia in lavender. The picture isn't as clear as I hoped it would turn out -- I keep forgetting to bring up my DSLR from home in SF, so my iPhone will have to suffice in the mean time. Anyway, I was debating for awhile on whether or not to make this purchase. It is quite an expensive device ($119 retail) with a detachable brush head ($25 retail) replacement at a rate of every 2-3 months. Obviously this can quickly add up over time and as a student, I wasn't sure if this was a smart investment. However, the 90 day satisfaction guarantee (make sure it's from an authorized seller) coupled with the massive amount of positive reviews from both friends and strangers eventually pushed me to give it a try.
It's not necessary to include every detail about the Clarisonic but I do want to highlight that it claims to remove impurities from skin and pores 6x more effectively than with your hands in just 60 seconds. As a result, creams, moisturizers, and serums are more readily absorbed by the skin. This seemingly powerful, yet gentle device does take some time to deliver results depending on your skin. I do feel it leaving my skin softer and smoother, and I find myself feeling excited every/every other night to use this because the oscillating movement feels like a gentle facial massage every time! It's supposedly gentle enough to use twice a day but I find that a bit too much.There have been incidences of people going through the "purging" process, which is when all the impurities hidden beneath the skin are brought up to the surface. With that being said, I am going to wait about another month or so to see if the Clarisonic really lives up to the hype.
